*NEWS*
WheeltapperWillie has wiped the floor on the Intense server. Nobody even came close!
It seems as if it's a busy time of year for a lot of players, because the numbers sticking around for the whole tourney are getting lower. Because of this, we'll put the Intense servers on hold for a while until people have more time to play.
I've set up something a bit different - Pink will be a Halloween tourney and the registration is open now. This server has a bunch of goodies to check out. New race (Fiend) which many of you won't have seen before. In addition, there are 30 text colours! So go crazy in a rainbow chat. See you in there!
If this is your first tourney, don't be afraid to come on in. Everyone starts as a newbie, nobody will have a Gryphon, and nobody is beating anyone in the Hall of Fame - if you're clever you have the chance to win just like anyone else.
Darton City is now officially in Beta testing. Essentially most of the dragon-text is gone and I have started adding content. The Darton Club is installed and the Pawn Shop too. Ideas are welcomed and beta testers are always useful! Come along and see a new game take shape.

GemDust Tourney Servers General Information
So what exactly IS a tourney? Normally, Legend of the Green Dragon starts off... and keeps going, never finishing. Some players play this for years! As you can imagine, if you're not there in the beginning you will probably never catch up to the people who've been there that long.
A tourney (or tournament) is a bit different because we have a set start and finish date. Everyone starts off equal, and everyone has the same chance to become the winner at the top of the Hall of Fame. Tourneys have a few things different to normal servers - each tourney will have info once you join.
All Tourneys have a prize of 1000 donator points that can be used on any future GemDust Tourney. Players can also purchase donator points by donating to the Site Admin Link in the game. They may allow you to gain a speed or strength advantage in the game. The tourneys go for a set number of days. After that, you can log in and see the Hall of Fame or check YOM, but everything else closes and the winners are announced on this page!
You can join as many tourneys as you like, but only ONE CHARACTER per computer in each tourney... and this will be enforced without warnings. If you're new to Legend of the Green Dragon and haven't played before, join a server where the Tourney hasn't yet started. That way, you can get to know the game a little before the race begins. If you'd prefer a bigger challenge in a more varied game, visit Classic Server or DragonCat which are run by the original authors of the game.
These servers are provided free of charge for your enjoyment. Please respect other players and refrain from harrassing anyone or being offensive. These servers may contain comment by players that is not the view of the Webmaster. By using this free service you agree that the opinions of others may not be the same as your own and that you play at your own risk. Please read the MOTD every time you log in. The Webmaster recommends you do not give out any personal information to any other player on the site, including your real name, address, telephone number, AIM/ICQ/MSN information, or email address. The Webmaster collects your email address during signup but this is used only to enable you to retrieve your password in the event that you lose it.
These servers do not have rules against revealing game secrets. If you do choose to help others, you may find that they beat you, though! The language rules are also quite relaxed. Providing you are not being intentionally offensive towards others, mild words are permitted.

More about Legend of the Green Dragon
Legend of the Green Dragon is an adventure game that uses text instead of pictures. While that doesn't make it as flashy as some games, it means that anyone can play it on any kind of internet connection, and you don't need to download files or install a thing. It isn't difficult and even relatively young players are able to learn how it works. (Parents please note: if your child is under 13, please supervise them while playing, as all servers allow private messaging and have chat areas).
Players start the game without much, and begin to explore and get to know the place. Along the way, you'll collect gold and gems, which you can use at different shops to buy things like weapons, armour, and special items. On most servers you'll move up in the world by fighting monsters in the forests. Once you've beaten enough monsters, you can challenge your trainer - if you win, you will gain a level. Gain enough levels, and you'll be able to hunt for the Green Dragon!
Different servers have different things to spend gold and gems on. Most have a local Innkeeper where you can buy ale and potions. Most also have the kitchen where you can eat. Each server is unique and offers a different set of items, but once you've played on any, you should feel pretty comfortable exploring another.
Classic Server is where it all began, and DragonCat is another one that runs a "traditional" set of options. These two are run by the original authors of the game. SaucyWench runs these servers (me!) and I was the original staff manager of the Classic server. A large amount of my code still exists on about 300 LoGD servers around the world. On any server you can view its Module Info page inside the About link on the front page. All the modules show their author - Shannon Brown is me.
Here on GemDust I have tried to change things around for variety. On the Purple server you'll usually see the more common options. On Blue, you'll see things that are more relaxing, and on Red, things that are more intense. You're welcome to send feedback either in-game or to my email address. Thanks for playing!

About Darton City
Darton City is an example of a "themed" server. In this game you will probably recognise most of the elements from Legend of the Green Dragon. Although the setting is a modern-day city, there are gems (called Stolen Goods instead), there are dollars (instead of gold) and there are monsters to kill - or more accurately, they are people on the street, and you don't kill them, you just knock them out and loot their pockets. You will recognise the weapon and armour shops, the bank, PvP fighting, and defeating your masters. All of them have changed text to match the theme, but anyone who has played LoGD will be able to find their way around fairly easily.
Because it is set in the present, it seems like it might be more violent than say, a dragon-hunting adventure. While it has that feel to it, I have worked pretty hard not to go into gory detail anywhere. Not only are the weapons very basic, but there is no real death. Players end up in hospital and dream instead of walking the graveyard that exists in LoGD.
Darton City is still in its testing stage. Content is still being added. It will be a little bit different to LoGD, because the levelling is slower and the game will be about playing each level, not rocketing to level 15 to find some dragon. I want to make the game itself worth your time, not just a race. Comments and suggestions are very welcome; you will see the discussion and bugfixing going on in the main village as soon as you enter. Feel free to chime in and tell me what you think!

About Manor Royale
Manor Royale is different. It is using the LoGD game engine, but that is where the similarity ends. This is a big project I have taken on. I have stripped out almost everything that you would recognise from LoGD - there are no gems, there is no attack or defense, no hitpoints, no creatures even. Stay with me - I haven't done this to ruin the place!
Manor Royale is an adventure and exploration game, not a fighting type of game. A wealthy socialite owns an enormous mansion, and you've been invited to solve each level's challenges. Each level you complete allows you up to the next storey of the mansion with new clues to collect and objects to use in the right rooms. You're a contestant in a race for the glory.
Manor Royale has a definite "Crimson Room" inspiration, but in reality it's more like the Quests from the early 80's (Police Quest, King's Quest, Leisure Suit Larry - remember those?) where you had to pick up the right objects and use them in the right way. This project is still in the initial stages, but once a few levels are done I'll post the site address so that people can have a look and give some feedback.
